I am getting a little wild and crazy with these legwarmers. The color of this yarn is dill. I felt like it was safe to go with something other than brown or cream since they will be worn under pants. I am half way finished with the first legwarmer. The pattern is really easy and satisfying. I am knitting in the round with a 12″ circular needle. The ladies at the yarn shop told me I couldn’t do that, that I hadto go with double points. I hate double points, and they were wrong anyway. I am making these because I get really cold in the winter and legwarmers do help. Jonny ordered me a pair of alpaca legwarmers from Peru last year but they were thirty dollars which seems a little silly. That’s my baby. Have I mentioned her before? Her name is Beatrix, but I am the only one who calls her that. Everyone else calls her B-Rose. Larkspur uses a very Steel Magnolias southern accent when she says it.
I know this is a random photo. Jonny was holding her and wearing a dirty wife beater and I was trying not to get him in the picture. Anyway, I love her little face. Have I mentioned that I will be leaving her with Jonny for the entire day on Saturday? Probably not because while I am excited about what I will be doing, I am sort of sick about being separated from my baby. She’ll be fine though and I will be too busy to think about her too much. Right?
Our blackberries are ripe and we ate our first Blackberry Roll a few days ago. It was the best ever. You should try this recipe. We used about half white flour and half soft white whole wheat. You canjust make it with all white. I add some wheat so I can pretend it’s healthy and eat it for breakfast.
And for any of you reading who remember Willy, he’s still with us. Willy was my first cat and he is 13 years old now I think. He has always been a very generous sized cat but seems to be dropping some weight. I guess he’s getting old or he may be getting diabetic. I don’t want to think about that though. I can’t believe that when I got him I actually thought I could keep him in my bedroom at my parents’ house without them noticing. Our dog Bear gave his presence away by camping outside my closed bedroom door whenever I wasn’t home. My mom discovered Willy one day while I was out, but didn’t let on that she knew I was hiding something/lying to her for another week. Can you imagine what it was like when I realized I was busted? Actually, me hiding Willy in my room was pretty tame compared to all the other stuff I pulled. Glad those days are over.
