I made a sweater! So I guess I have graduated from hats and purses. This is supposed to be a spring sweater, hence the short sleeves. It was chilly yesterday though, so Larkspur wore it with a shirt underneath. This was a super easy pattern, knit in the round, which is my favorite way to knit. The free pattern is HERE if anyone is interested.

The sweater is gorgeous and looks even better on that beautiful young lady modeling it for us! I don't know how to knit in the round yet so I guess I won't be making any of these. It is adorable though. I'm going to go sit on the heating pad (strained back) and bind off another little baby hat like I did for Bea. I've only got like 6 of them already but I had the yarn and figured there wasn't enough left to use on anything else and I do try to use up my yarns as I go. Although I do have an entire box filled with yarn scraps. But I'd hate to think of how many boxes I'd have full of partial skeins if I didn't repeat patterns of the same article. My friend talked me into entering some of my knitting in the county fair next month. I certainly don't expect any ribbons of any kind. I mean, I really am a beginner, experience-wise. I learned to knit when I was 15 but waited until now to really spend any time at it.–Marj

Therese, this was really easy and quick. If I had more time it would have been a two day project easily.Doris, I used two skeins of Noro Chirimen yarn which is a mostly cotton self striping yarn. I ordered from shopknitch.comMary Kay, I knit late at night when I should be cleaning 🙂 It's my sanity saver.Laura, you could knit this easily. I wish I could pop over to your house one evening to show you. We may be old and gray before we get to hang out!

Soooo cute! I'm impressed, did you change colors that many times, or use one of those self-striping yarns? I'll have to check out the pattern, I have two grand daughters that would like mighty cute in that sweater. Lark does a great job of modeling your handiwork. Is it a princess sweater?? LOL

What a beautiful sweater! I am so impressed. When do you have time to knit? I have a hard time finding time to clean, and I only have 2 kids!

Very cute! You have to teach me to knit. I just know the basics–like hot to knit really long rows to make useless scarves.Laura

Wow. It looks great. I can knit and don't mind it but something seem to take so long so I prefer sewing. Something like that sounds easy.Therese
