Birth story to come soon I hope!

I really hope that I will be able to sit down long enough to type out the whole story of Beatrix’s birth soon. Unfortunately, right now sitting on my rear end for more than a minute or two is pretty much out of the question. This is the direct result I suppose of pushing a baby out in less than ten minutes. I am also trying to figure out why my body thinks it needs to make enough milk to sustain a toddler when all I am nursing is one tiny baby, who is less than eight pounds. It actually hurts to roll from side to side and to move my arms. Does this happen to everyone in those early days of nursing?
This was the first time I had someone taking pictures at one of my births. Thanks to my friend Lori I have the whole thing documented in a very tasteful way. So I will share some of those as soon as I get around to typing it all out.

Can't wait to read your birth story! I was always waaaaay full of milk, too. I deliver by cesarean, and my milk always comes in within a day. When my last son was born, he was swallowing milk less than 24 hours after he was born and a day later, I begged my husband to run home for the pump so that the poor boy could latch on. I'd feed the baby and pump 8 ounces, feed him some more, and pump a few more ounces. I sympathize with the discomfort, too–it did hurt quite a bit to be so full of milk. Better full than empty, though, right!? 😉

Better too much milk than not enough! Sounds like an exciting story and I'll look forward to it. Bless you!

Can't wait to see and hear the whole thing. With my first son I was bloated to a humongous size and it almost hurt to breathe they were so painful. I had to go to the doctor they were so bad. Hurting and leaking everywhere! I didn't want to nurse my first one so the doc gave me injections to "dry up" my milk, which didn't work. Then with my second son I decided to nurse and my breasts were bone dry and the doc gave me injections to try and make them produce but nothing doing. Seems like a lot of life is like that. When we don't want it we have it in excess and when we want it, we are left lacking. Sorry you are so sore. Hope you're better soon. Try reclining on your side instead of straight down, maybe? My first baby was a very difficult birth. It only took 4 hours from start to finish but boy! was it ever hard labor. My second one was only 3 hrs start to finish but he was a breeze. I was up dancing in the hospital corridors within an hour and protesting that they wouldn't let me take my baby and go home. But back then, childbirth meant a hospital stay of at least 2 days. And it was before epidurals and other wonderful ways of having a painless birth. Which I don't for a minute think you had. Homebirths don't come with epidurals. Bea is so beautiful. I bet she looks a lot like Lark did.–Marj

I can't wait to hear the story and see the picutes : ) I too have enough milk to nurse about ten newborns at first. It always hurts the same way you describe. After a baby, My breasts are big, full and painful. My hubby and I always laugh because it seems like you are trying to get something so big and full into a tiny little mouth. I love nursing!!!!!! I am a Lactation Counselor. Hope will be a year and I don't want to stop anytime soon. I am praying that all is going great for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is just beautiful, Praise God, all good gifts are from him~
