Somehow we almost made it eight years of having children without any of them needing stitches. The streak ended this week. Much to my surprise it was not one of the boys that needed to go to the ER, but Larkspur. I was at a friends house picking up clothes for Lark (thanks Lori!) when Jonny called to tell me she had jumped off the couch, landed on a piece of Keats’ pottery that had one little broken spot on it, and cut herself badly on the knee. I quickly drove home and then Jonny and Lark headed to the ER to get her knee taken care of. They made it home around midnight and Lark’s first statement, with a big delirious smile was “they fixed me!” She was super tired and wide eyed and adorable. She kept calling “her boys” but they wouldn’t wake up. She so wanted to tell them that she got “witches.” Jonny said that things were a little rough-especially when they gave her the shot to numb her knee. After that she was okay and even enjoyed watching the PA give her four stitches. The PA said that Lark was the first two year old she had ever had to actually watch the stitching.
The boys were impressed. Their little sister is tough.

Wow..what a trooper!! That is pretty amazing that this is the first time for stitches. We have had them 5 times already (Tony has 3x and each of the girls 1) None for Nick…yet. What a tough girl to watch them do it!!
