Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

Yarn Along-1140

That is sleeve number two on the needles!  So, I did make some progress on my barn sweater this week.

I had to put aside The Reed of God, because the chapter discussing death made me cry, like soak my pillow at bedtime cry.  I’m sure the rest of the book will be less upsetting, and I will return to it soon. I checked out A Lantern in Her Hand from the library after one of you recommended it, and was planning to save it for January, but I started reading it early in an effort to recover.  Of course I like it, it’s about pioneers.  I also received my copy of Susan B. Anderson’s Kids’ Knitting Workshop after pre-ordering it weeks ago.  I have to say it’s my favorite kids’ knitting book yet!  If you have a child wanting to learn, I think this is the book to buy!  It is meant to teach you how to knit, and it contains projects in order of increasing difficulty.  Jonny picked it up and said that it made him want to start knitting again!

Yarn Along

The Yarn Along began in early Fall 2010 as a way to share knitting projects and good reads; motivating ourselves, and inspiring each other.  Every week knitters, and a few crocheters as well, link up and share a photo of what they are knitting alongside what they are reading.  Knowing that Yarn Along Wednesday is coming up is a great way to stay motivated to finish those projects!  And I, for one, am always on the lookout for a great book recommendation as well.

If you enjoy the Yarn Along, feel free to grab a button to share on your own blog!
