*My shop will be updated today, June 7th at 11 a.m. ET*
It feels like a whole lot of work went into this update, but with less yarn to show for it! I think part of that is the new 4 oz size of my sport and fingering weight yarns. There are fewer individual skeins, so it just doesn’t seem like as much yarn as usual, even though it is. Working with the larger skeins actually cuts back on my work just a bit, so my prices for those are a couple dollars lower (per ounce) now. However, the multicolored and speckled yarns take several extra steps to create so those are priced a bit higher. If you’ve purchased mini skeins from me in the past, you will see that this month they are a bit larger, 110 yards vs. 80 yards. That gives you a little more yarn and more confidence that you won’t run out of a single color on a shawl project like this one. I’m very interested in knitting a Half Hansel and am thinking of offering kits later this fall. Kits would include four naturally dyed mini skeins and enough undyed yarn in either white or gray to knit the shawl. What do you think? Interested? Also-right now I only offer mini skeins in my 2-ply fingering weight yarn. Please let me know if you’d like to see minis in another weight. Okay, I think that is all I wanted to tell/ask you. Thanks so much for your support of my natural yarn dyeing endeavors! This was a fun few weeks!

I love the idea of kits! And now that I’ve fallen in love with the Half Hansel, I’m thinking to myself, “I totally have time to knit the full version too!…Right?”

Oh your yarn is so pretty and the Half Hansel is too!! For those of us that are beginner knitters/crocheters – is it possible to get an idea of what you could easily make with your skeins you sell depending on the sizes. I would just have no idea what to order and then if I did – I’d probsbly stare at it and wouldn’t have a clue. Oh how I wish I would have learned when I was a little girl!!! If you could sometime share a little blog post on that I’m interested. If not could you email me. Thanks!

I think a kit is a great idea! I don’t even knit and I love the pattern.
Kelli says
Yes! I would love a Half Hansel kit! Would you do a knit-along? I don’t know many knitters, so I would enjoy company while knitting, especially when questions come up.
Ginny says
A knit along would be fun! I’m actually working on starting an online knitting community and we would definitely do knit alongs as part of that! I’m excited to knit that pattern.

I love your yarn and would like to see kits in fall. This latest batch is stunning!
Ginny says
Thank you! I think I’ll put together some kits over the next couple of months!

I love kits and would most likely purchase one, funds allowing. 🙂
I have to leave today at 11:00 for my son’s orthodontist appointment and I am sure there won’t be any yarn left by the time I can get on! Waaah! Hopefully you will have another colorful update soon!
God bless you, Michele

I’m so glad you got some yarn! 🙂

Your yarns are absolutely gorgeous. Having tried my hand at natural dyeing, I am so impressed by the colours that you achieve The joke in our house is that everything turns yarn yellow! I’m not surprised that a lot of work went into this shop update – the products are beautiful.
Ginny says
Thank you, Cecily! There are definitely a lot of plants that produce a shade of yellow!!!

I would love to have a kit for the Half Hansel. It’s been in my favorites for a while, just haven’t found the right yarns. I love the colors of the original (the link you posted).
Ginny says
I really love those colors too! I could definitely produce something very similar with natural dyes!
