~Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me each month and share what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Post your photo(s) on your blog or on Instagram (#yarnalong) and then share a link below to either your blog or Instagram post!~ (this post contains affiliate links.)
I was aiming to finish my Flora Cardi by Easter Sunday, and almost made it. It’s blocking now, and once it’s dry I need to sew a couple small seams and finish the sleeve cuffs and it will be finished. I’m not sure it’s going to fit well, but I’m hoping it is wearable!
I am so glad to be able to work on other projects now. I have several things planned, and right now I am working on another Antarktis shawl. I’ve knit it twice before and gave both shawls away. I may keep this one!
I’m not reading any fiction right now outside of what I’m reading to my kids, but I have been spending a few minutes first thing in the morning reading No Man is an Island. I think this is the longest I’ve gone in years without picking up some sort of fiction to read to myself. I’m reading Calico Bush to my girls at bedtime right now, and we love it so much. I sit reading to them each night until my throat hurts! Maybe as long as I am enjoying what I’m reading to my kids, I don’t feel the need for my own fiction read. Or maybe I’m just too tired when I get in bed at night to read to myself! Silas is really obsessed with mushrooms right now, so I’ve also been reading some to him from a vintage Golden Guide I bought him for Easter.

Happy April, Ginny. I hope you do keep this one for yourself! It is a lovely shawl. Calico bush is a great read. Sometimes between reading all the books to the children and all the history/science and Bible, I have almost no time to read MY books but I realize my nose has been in a book anyway for much of the day. 😉

Hi Ginny, is it possible to upload a picture any other way? I only do Instagram for my business – it would be inappropriate to post my knitting there! – and ditto blogging. Thanks!

I don’t know what you have gotten me into!! I ordered the Shawl pattern and some of your yarn but I am not sure I can do it!! You are an inspiration but sometimes I step out too far!!! I used to knit but haven’t in years.

I am currently reading Knitting yarns – Edited by Ann Hood.
Such a lovley book. My dear friend gave it to me for my birthday.
I am currently working on a mini ipad cover. I swore I was going to destash this year and use up yarn I already have around the house.

My stash busting goal was going well for maybe a month! Haha
I love knitting for organizations that ask for donated hand crafted items and I just had to make a small dog bed and of course had to buy some yarn.
I am also currently working on some dishcloths with a bunny on it for a local critter rescue and their upcoming craft sale. Had to buy yarn for those too!

That Antarkis is going to be so lovely. I have knit it twice, too, after your recommendation, and have the same yarn (in a different color way) to knit a third as well for my mother-in-law! All have been gifts, and eventually, maybe I’ll knit one to keep. It is such an enjoyable and quick knit. Oh, I do SO love your yarn along posts. Thank you for bringing them back!

I’ve knit antarkis once and could easily knit it again 🙂 I love those kind of patterns that you return to again and again. My reading is slow going but I’m hoping to ramp it up by scheduling in reading time during the day! One can dream.
