~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

I read The Knitter’s Book of Yarn over the last couple of weeks. I’ve had it for years, but have mostly just skimmed the pages, reading bits here and there. I actually read everything but the patterns this week!
I’m knitting a Nurmilintu shawl in my goldenrod dyed yarn. Olive green is one of my favorite colors so I’m really happy about this project.

I knit that one, too! Loved it. Beautiful color.

That olive will be perfect with the tree-like lace pattern in the shawl! I loved the goldenrod yarns you had in the latest batch- sadly, grad school doesn’t leave much spending money for yarn!

The Knitter’s Book of Yarn looks quite fascinating!
Shannon Meyer says
Beautiful shade of green for that shawl!!!

Your book sounds interesting and one I think all knitters could enjoy.
Oh, I love olive green too. Happy knitting.

I love when you tell us what plant you used to dye the color you get, it seems mystifying that golden rod yields to a green…
Now I’m off to see what that pattern is…
