Almost Winter Light {yarn}

G. Sheller Yarn-8775G. Sheller Yarn-9304G. Sheller Yarn-8778

My yarn shop has been updated, maybe for the last time this year (We’ll see!)  There is a bit of pokeberry yarn, some tickseed sunflower, black walnut, sumac, and yes, prickly pear!  I also achieved some pretty shades of purple dyeing with muscadines.  All of these skeins were dyed with whole flowers, nuts, berries, and leaves that I collected myself.

I have the shop divided into sections by yarn weight, and with the exception of one single skein of hazel alder dyed alpaca fingering weight yarn and one giant skein of tickseed sunflower dyed targhee, all of the skeins in each section are the same yarn base.  I hope that makes it easy to purchase different colors of the same weight/fiber content for multi-colored projects.  I think that the worsted weight merino skeins complement each other especially well this time around (That’s them in the top photo.  The bottom photo is of the sport weight merino skeins.)

I struggled in the blue tinged almost winter light to accurately photograph especially the grays and taupes.  I’m afraid the photos don’t do them justice, but that only means that you might be pleasantly surprised when your yarn arrives looking even better than you expected!

Thank you all for your continued support!

**My yarn sold out!  Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart! **

  1. The colors are beautiful and my fingers start to knit when ever I see such lovely and yummy yarn! 🙂

  2. The colors are beautiful and my fingers start to itch when ever I see such lovely and yummy yarn! 🙂

  3. Well, and who WOULDN’T buy this yarn? It’s gorgeous! And if the colors are even prettier than they appear in the photos…well, I’m sorry I missed out!! :o)

  4. These are so beautiful! I don’t knit, crochet, or ever have use for yarn, but your work makes me want to learn… even though I have no idea what I’d make or enjoy making. I admire your talent — beautiful job! Pokeberry turned out gorgeously. I have a sugar berry tree in my backyard; I read the Indians used the berries for brown dye. Wonder how that would look?

  5. Gorgeous colors you got Ginny!

  6. Very Nice Work, Ginny!

  7. Kathleen L. says:

    I just ordered, only five items left…and they all look so yummy!

  8. Amazing colors

  9. Well, looks like I’m too late anyway.

  10. Is the pokeberry close in color to the previous lot? I bought one skein but I can tell my project is going to need more!

  11. I just ordered some dyed with prickly pear and I am SOOOOO excited 🙂 They are all so beautiful!

I love to hear from you!
