We’ve had a long, hard, few days. And guess what? I haven’t finished our taxes yet! They are due on Wednesday!
This is the worst case of tax procrastination I’ve ever suffered from.
So, with that, I am going to go knit!
Just kidding. I’m going to finish our taxes.
Taxes are done! Time to knit! Just kidding again. Time to give reading lessons and start thinking about what’s for dinner. But tonight, tonight I’ll be knitting for sure!
p.s. Job has Bea hair, doesn’t he?

Ah, taxes. My husband is in ministry and I am a, ahem, freelancer. So our taxes are always terribly confusing and neither of us possess the required skill set to complete them accurately. As much as we hate to, it always benefits us to pay someone to do them. I did them the first year we were married and still in college, so they were super simple. I still managed to mess them up. I sent in two identical copies. . . . I am glad they are done and off your mind! Enjoy knitting later!

That reminds me, my taxes are due soon too. But really, what is more important: filing taxes or knitting?
Judging by the crowd or comments I’m pretty sure I can guess the answer. Enjoy the knitting.

I was so worried about taxes this year because we moved retirement money from several different places to one place and no matter how many times our financial guy told me we wouldn’t owe, I just didn’t believe him. Using Turbo Tax, every time I entered a number I’d keep looking at the return/owe number and hold my breath. Oh, I hate taxes. Thank goodness we don’t owe. Not get enough back for a vacation or a project, but at least we didn’t owe!
PS My poor dad got his death and taxes on the same day — you know that old saying? Yup, his date of death is April 15. Thirty-three years it’s been this year. More than two-thirds of my life. Thank God for every day — even the ones with taxes!

My taxes are done! I would put it off to the last if I didn’t really need the return. College, farm maintenance, etc just won’t wait. I have not been able to knit either due to getting our daughter moved out of our rental, getting it cleaned, and rented. Then on Sunday morning my dog broke my finger. Quite by accident. Now I am not knitting and my typing is taking forever! Guess I will read a book! 🙂

Ok, I have to know. How did the dog break your finger??? Gotta be a story there!

I had her on a leash… she hasn’t been on one for a while. I stepped inside the garage to get her food when my husband came around the corner she ran to him…dragging me! The leash was wrapped around my wrist and caught on my finger. She’s a very strong and large german shepherd. 😉

Oh, taxes are the worst disruptor of life! They make my stomach turn. I hope yours go smoothly!! And get out that knitting!

I have filed extensions more times than I care to admit so this year I went to an accountant. Ironically this year we owe the most money EVER so I am grateful that someone had to break the news to me….see those kinds of numbers build on turbotax may have sent me over the edge. Be at peace it really is just money.

We are procrastinating going to the tax guy to just sign the papers….ugh! (hope your day improves)

Deep breaths. Knit a few rows. Relax. It will all get done. It always does.

Just delivered our figures from the farm to our accountant Friday….you’re not the only one!!!!!

You may feel behind, but you are ahead of my husband. By plan, he always does them the day they are due. He thinks we are less likely to be audited if we wait and submit with the flood of the others! (You didn’t know you were such a strategist right?)
Good luck! I will say some extra prayers that things turn around. Just go watch the goats awhile, they always cheered me up.

Hugs on these difficult days. My funny tax procrastination story is the one that corresponds with my oldest daughter’s birth. She was born on April 15 just after I finished high school, so I was a young mother with no husband and a newborn at home. About 11:30 pm on the 15th, as I’m in the bedroom trying to put the baby down for her first night, my mom comes in and tells me she’s “off to the post office downtown to get the taxes postmarked”! I about died! Talk about feeling thrown into the deep end! It all turned out fine, of course, but we still laugh about mom racing to the post office and me home with a brand new baby. In mom’s defense, I had labored at home for several days before the baby was born so last minute turned into REALLY last minute… haha!
Blessings friend. You are being lifted in my prayers.

I want to buy time. More time. Where do we go to buy more time? Please.
I recognize that beautiful, bittersweet yarn.
I carried mine home in a bag, pushed it under the seat in front of me.
I love you.

I know the feeling, procrastination , what a nice word for a terrible horror.
I’m one of them, working whole day, asking myself what I did today in t he evening and procrastinating half of my to do list , loving reading, knitting, crocheting, gardening, It’s not that I hate working in the house or on my job but there are so many more pleasant things to do… so I continue… Please fill in your taxes… it needs to be done, so there is enough budget in the house to continue a nice living with … procrastinating…
although I with you to get rid of it, as I wish this also for myself, different courses, books, didn’t help me definitively..; lots of good intentions
isn’t that what life is made of,… good intentions
have a nice day

I’m sorry you had a couple of difficult days. I’m happy that you’re able to find beauty even then, though – these pictures are lovely. Good luck doing taxes!
