~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading (though not at the same time!), and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
Rather than sharing what I am knitting and reading right now, I’m sharing finished gifts today. I didn’t knit many Christmas gifts, because I don’t like to worry about finishing things up in time. I am careful not to add anything to my plate that might make Advent and Christmas stressful. But, I knit a pair of mittens for Silas on our trip to Georgia last month, and then it was quick and easy to knit up a little improvised hat to match. The yarn is a single skein that I picked up at our fiber festival this year. The only other gift I finished was a Milo vest for Job. I meant to finish knitting a little doll for Job as well, but knitting something so small was hurting my hands.
So that’s it for me. Did you guys knit many gifts? Please share them! If you have a regular Yarn Along post to share, that is welcome too. Happy (almost) New Year!

I did try to knit too many things (again) this Christmas, but I am beginning to think differently for next year. I think the KNIT ALL THE PRESENTS mentality is definitely making me a basket-case, so I very much appreciate your thoughts. I think I will tone it down next year. Too many Christmas hats & fingerless mitts have given me major pause–when my friend asked if I had time to knit her a pair of mitts for a friend of hers, I experienced an involuntary gut-churning reaction to the request. I cannot knit anymore fingerless mitts ever. Lol. The lovely knitted gifts you made for your boys this Christmas display such love–thanks for passing the sparingly beautiful feeling on~~~ xx

Hi,
I don’t know if this is the correct venue. I am subscribed to your blog but over the last few days I have not receivied them. I tried to resubscribe but was told I am already subscribed. Any suggestions? I can go to an old post and then click along and find the new ones, but I really liked seeing it in my inbox daily. A special treat. Thanks for your help.

You aren’t the first one with this problem! I am going to work on switching to a new subscription service, because there really isn’t anything I can do to troubleshoot the Feedburner.

Ginny,
Nice mittens and hat, Silas looks so cute in them! And Job looks so cute in his new Milo. I finished a Milo vest for Bracken for Christmas, but don’t have pictures of it yet. (We’ve been too busy having colds and wearing pajamas instead.) I had another project I was working on for him and didn’t finish it for Christmas. But we’ve been having fun working on it together, so it worked out well this way.
Love,
Taryn

I did knit gifts but they were given and unphoto-ed. Next year I’ll remember! Love the hat and mittens 🙂
