~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~I’ve picked my Follow Your Arrow shawl back up and am more than halfway through the fourth clue now. I am proceeding with some trepidation as I wish I had gone up a needle size, but I am not going to turn back at this point. I’ll just hope for the best, or maybe for a blocking miracle.
I’m reading Shirt of Flame. I really like it, but there are parts that hit so close to home that I almost feel uncomfortable reading it at times. Heather King isn’t afraid to really lay it bare and that makes me squirm a bit. This is proving to be a good Lenten read for me.

That colour is amazing, reminds me of the shell fragments I find on our beaches. Your knitting is crazy good x
Kathy says
Why not just go up a needle size anyway? i’m sure it would block out over time. Why not!
Sheila says
Great idea! Especially, where you are working from the top down, it won’t be noticed and you will get what you want!!!
🙂
(I have put all the books similar to the Yarn Harlot on hold at the library because of your last post. Thanks for the insight to some fun reading. I will have to look into this book, too!!!)
Sheila says
These two replies are to Kathy’s idea. In addition, if you’re not working top down it is still not going to make a difference in appearance if you change the needle size, now. Good luck. Pretty color. My grandmother who avidly knitted and crocheted would pick that color in a heart beat. 🙂

I like the look of your shawl very much and what lovely colour! I’m currently reading “The Signature of all THings” by Elizabeth Gilbert — it’s for our book club otherwise I would not have read it because I absolutely did not like her memoir (Eat Pray Love), not at all. But, I must admit that I’m enjoying this novel. I think she should stick to fiction and not write anymore about her life.

I am also picking up the KAL and finishing it. I had to put it down for awhile because I was busy with wee babes. Good Luck finishing it!

A mystery pattern sounds so intriguing, the shawl is looking beautiful.

I have picked up the same book last week!!!
Your shawl looks dreamy…:)

I love that color you are using for your shawl. I drool over it every time you post it. I like your new picture on the top right. That’s new right? Well it is a great picture either way.
Ginny says
Thanks, Andee! It’s an old picture of Silas and me that I found on a memory card last night. I’ve been meaning to stick a photo there for awhile and that one seemed like a good one to use!

That books looks intriguing. I’ll have to look into it. I’ve seen some FOs of that design and it is stunning. I’m so glad you took the leap to do it. The color is so cheery too!

love that knitting Ginny!!

I’m really loving the coral color of your shawl. I’m sure it can block bigger, especially if you use a stretchy bind off. After seeing this shawl and the one you made for your daughter I think I need to invest some time in a heavier weight shawls. Yours are so beautiful!
Shirt of Flame has been on my “to read” list for awhile, and after your description I think I need to pick it up next.

I’m still working on my Arrow shawl as well. I’m about halfway through Clue 5 but it takes me a 1/2 hour to knit one row. So slow!!!
meghann says
I had the same worry at just about the same point with my Arrow; blocking *will* work miracles on it, I promise. I love the yarn you’re using! xo
Sarah says
The color of your shawl is so pretty! It matches the font of your book 🙂 I have that book on my to-read list. I look forward to hearing more of what you think. Blessings to you and yours during this holy season of Lent!

karen says
Blocking will fix almost anything, just make sure to do a stretchy bindoff! So glad you are back to your shawl and can’t wait to see it off the needles.
Tracey says
I have the FYAS pattern, but haven’t cast on yet, I can’t decided what to start with first, a or b.
Blocking is such a fun thing to watch and it really is a miracle worker with yarn.
