~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
The past ten days have felt awfully long, with a virus slowly moving through our family. I’ve still managed some knitting, finishing two pairs of little baby socks and casting on for a baby hat.
I’m still reading The Devil’s Advocate, and enjoying it. This book has a nice pace. It’s not one I feel I have to read with urgency, demanding to be read in a matter of days. It’s not slow either. Just perfect for picking up here and there as I am able.

This is in the oven now and the aroma is overwhelming! I’m making this for my husband’s office meeting, but it’s too early to say if it will make it there in the morning lol!
I have no doubt it will be perfect!

Hi, I had stopped blogging for a while, due to big life changes, but here I am back with a little yarn along. 🙂

I love the color of the white yarn against the green and black book – pretty picture!

I love that Pilot Cap pattern so much. My daughter has been wearing one her entire life. I think I’ve knit six of them…or maybe seven! I think I am going to make a natural-colored one for my next baby too. I am trying desperately to finish a Waldorf doll for my daughter’s 2nd birthday party on Saturday, but I am so looking forward to getting to all that baby knitting!
Chris says
feel better- lovely photo. I am entering the world of Yarn Bombing this week!
Rachel Johnson says
those socks even look like they might stay on ! I have nearly finished a top, and since it was knit in the round it doesn’t need sewing up – hurrah !
Ginny says
I do think they will stay on! I knit the cuffs to three inches, and will roll them over. I think these are nearly perfect baby socks. And yes, hooray for knitting in the round!
Fosca - L'Armonia delle Cose says

what’s that other book in your pile
Catholic Christinanity?????
I might be in need of that book, our Homily this week was about St Peter vs St Paul, very timely for me as I seem to have found myself in one of those situations, maybe that book might be a good read for me
Ginny says
Yes, that’s it. A Catechism written by Peter Kreeft–very readable and good.

I just linked up my project. I really love baby knits (even though I don’t have kids… yet) because they go so fast!

Hoping you all feel better soon. I am sure that I read Devil’s Advocate, but so long ago I have forgotten it- must look out for it. My choice this week is a real must for any Agatha Christie fans!

Well I guess the knitting and the easy-paced reading will help to restore you from your illness. No fun being down when the weather is finally turning so nice. Wendy

Those baby socks and pilot hat are adorable. I've always admired the colors and patterns you select.
I'm adding Devil's Advocate to my reading list. : )
Susan @ Tea & Cake says
Okay, that first sentence didn’t come out right. I meant to say that I hope your family *soon* fully recovers . . . because you all *will* fully recover. : )

My first time linking up! You’ve inspired me to learn socks! I lean towards crochet because it is easy and I am comfortable with it. But I read that you said you’d only been knitting “seriously” for some years and I’ve decided I need to commit!

Spring bugs are the worst. And so unnesessary, don’t you think? Hope everyone’s on the mend and back up on their feet. I love that creamy yarn and the pattern is adorable. (((Rest up and feel better!)))

I wonder what’s caused this sudden interest in Morris West – there’s a local book club who just read “The Shoes of the Fisherman”.
Ginny says
I don’t know…I randomly selected The Devil’s Advocate after reading through reviews of a bunch of the books in the Loyola Classics series. I think I want to read The Shoes of the Fisherman too!

I’m amazed that you’ve gotten any knitting done at all, with everyone sick… We’ve all been perfectly healthy (well, Asher and I have allergies, but that doesn’t really count) and I’ve knit three rows this week. I hope everyone is feeling better. xo

I follow you on twitter and have read about that slow moving sickness 🙁 I hope you do not catch it and that it has finally left the house for good!! With all that sickness I’m surprised you got any knitting done!!

I’ve been looking for a little hat (or rather a large one actually) as my baby has inherited his parents’ genes for an enormous head and he has grown out of all the baby ones we were gifted! Thanks for the link to this pattern, it looks gorgeous (and crucially, seems to cover a range of sizes!)
Linda says
I hope everyone is feeling better soon Ginny:)
Thanks for putting the link list up today, I’m looking forward to visiting all the wonderful blogs.
Take care
