Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

I nearly forgot to take a Yarn Along photo today.  The light was fading fast, so I grabbed my book and project and ran outside.  The moment I laid my things down to take a photo, the chickens moved in to investigate…

I think they’re pretty amusing.

This week I finished Larkspur’s Bulle, and cast on for Beatrix’s. I am knitting Bea’s in the same yarn and colorway (tosh vintage/amber trinket) and waiting to give Larkspur hers until Bea’s is finished.

I finished reading Far from the Madding Crowd, and started reading Henry James’ Washington Square.  According to the back cover, Graham Greene once said of it, “Perhaps the only novel in which a man has successfully invaded the feminine field and produced a work comparable to Jane Austen’s.”  I am reading this book for my book club and I am enjoying it so far.  While I did like Far from the Madding Crowd, I am appreciating the fact that Washington Square doesn’t have me feeling like I need to look up the definition of words constantly!
