~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.
I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
This first week of November marks the first anniversary of our Yarn Along! I remember being so nervous about inviting others to join me for this, and I can’t believe how many of you Yarn Along with me each week now! I can’t begin to tell me how happy you have made my Wednesdays! To celebrate this first year, and to thank you for joining me, I will be hosting yarn giveaways on weekends throughout the month of November from a few of my sponsors, so stay tuned!
I have had a few people ask for a Yarn Along button that they can add to their Yarn Along posts, or their blog sidebars. I am working on that, and should have something ready soon.
These past few days I have been trying to finish up Beatrix’s “blueberry” cardigan. It’s a pretty boring knit, especially considering that I only recently finished an identical cardigan for Larkspur. I am starting to notice that there are so many patterns out there that I would like to knit for myself, and I am anxious to finish all the projects I have planned for my kids so I can get started on them. I am also really in the mood for some smaller projects. I believe I am in a “need faster gratification” stage in my knitting life right now. I have really been focused on knitting what my kids need, and think that I would like to do more knitting just for the love of it. I also want pretty things to wear! First though, Gabriel needs a mama made sweater!! I’ve got the yarn, I am just a bit nervous to start it.
My sweet sister Abby periodically sends me big boxes of wonderful books for my children. She finds them at library sales and thrift stores. In the box she sent us last week we discovered a new to us author, Jesse Stuart. While my oldest son Seth has read many of the popular newer novels out their for older children, we all really prefer old fashioned stories that revolve around children, beloved pets, old fashioned morals, and adventure. My boys never seem to tire of “boy and his dog” or “boy and his horse” stories. I am reading The Beatinest Boy to Gabe and Keats right now and we are really enjoying it, and looking forward to reading more of Jesse Stuart’s books.
Below is a linky list if you’d like to add a link to your own Yarn Along photo.
(**And those of you posting crochet projects, don’t forget to add the word “crochet” next to your name to make yourself easier for other crocheters to find! )
