Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

I learned a little knitting lesson this week:  When knitting a pair, it is best to knit them one right after the other.  I have been working to finish up all but one of the projects that I have on the needles right now, in preparation for a big casting on party of sorts.  I knit the first of a pair of booties for Silas quite awhile back, realized it didn’t fit right, and knit another.  Having knit two booties as is typical when knitting a pair of something, but still needing to knit a third, I had a hard time getting motivated.  It took me weeks to get in the mood to knit the second of the pair.  Evidently I had an extra cup of coffee the day I did, because bootie number two (or three depending on how you look at it) is a good bit smaller than the first (second) bootie.  I think I am done with booties for the time being; there is no way I am knitting a fourth in hopes that it matches up with number two or three.  It’s a million degrees here anyway.  Why was I knitting wool booties in the first place?  (haven’t updated my ravelry to include these, but here is a previous pair I knit-same pattern.)
Oh, and I cast on Beatrix’s fall cardigan today.  I convinced her that she would rather have a blue one than a pink one to match Larkspur’s.  I just can’t handle the monotony of two identical sweater projects.
I am between books, but fully intend to start reading Anne of Green Gables before the night’s out.  I’ve had it checked out from the library for weeks, and renewing it yesterday reminded me that I better get to reading it.
Below is a linky list if you’d like to add a link to your own Yarn Along photo.
(**And those of you posting crochet projects, don’t forget to add the word “crochet” next to your name to make yourself easier for other crocheters to find! )

(1) Make sure the link you submit is to the URL of your blog post or your specific Flickr photo and not your main blog URL or Flickr Photostream. Please be sure and link to your current Yarn Along post, and not a Yarn Along post from a previous week.
(2) Include a link back here in your blog post or flickr photo page.
(3) If you have any trouble linking up, just email me and I will help you!

You can also join the Flickr Yarn Along group to share your knitting and reading photos anytime!
