Yarn Along
~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a single photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I finished the second doll sweater I was working on last week, and realized that Susan and Lucy really need shoes! I searched through some newborn patterns on Ravelry, and decided that the Baby Janes pattern might work. I made some changes, and got really lucky. These dolls have pretty funky feet. I ended up knitting the 3-6 month size of the pattern, but switched to size 2 needles, used fingering weight yarn, and modifed the pattern just a bit to account for the dolls’ thick feet. This is the first time I have knit anything on such tiny needles, and I love them! I will post details on my Ravelry page soon. Since taking this photo, I finished the second shoe of Lucy’s pair, so two more shoes to go. They are really quick little knits. Poor Larkspur complains that everytime I make anything for the dolls, Beatrix’s doll, Lucy, gets her’s first. I guess Beatrix’s tears don’t work quite as well on Larkspur as they do me.
My book club is reading Josephine Tey’s The Daughter of Time this month, so that is one of the books I will be reading over the next few weeks. Oh, and my kids are really loving Tumtum & Nutmeg: Adventures Beyond Nutmouse Hall!
Below is a linky list if you’d like to add a link to your own Yarn Along photo.
