Sorry, I don’t typically post like this, but can anyone share any insights on night terrors? What they look like and what causes them? I think Beatrix was having them last night. She is 16 months old by the way, is that too young for night terrors? The whole thing was very weird and scary. She seemed awake but was acting terrified and like she was seeing things. There was a very strange look in her eyes, like she was awake yet not awake. She did a lot of screaming and jumping away from where she was laying and then pointing. She was horrified by Larkspur’s presence in the bed as if she didn’t know who she was. Not so awesome when you live in a very very old house with reported ghosts (not that we’ve ever seen any. well there was the one time the ghost cat rubbed against my arm…) I’ve not experienced anything like this with my other kids.
I finally got her to sleep around 6 a.m. carrying her around on my back.
I started drinking coffee recently (about a month ago) usually a half cup a day with a lot of milk. That wouldn’t be causing this now would it? Because dang, I need a cup of coffee this morning!
Last night was the second time this has happened (and the worst of the two times.)
