I knew It was bound to happen at some point. I am so thankful that I invested in the total replacement plan.
Yesterday in a moment of characteristic clumsiness, I accidently pushed my camera off a tall armoire. The camera itself seems okay, but the lens is shot. It will be in the shop for a couple of weeks. I am trying not to freak out about all the lost photos and focus on how great it will be to have free hands for awhile. I get so caught up in trying to capture moments with photographs that I am sure that I miss out on totally enjoying the moments themselves. To be honest, this thought isn’t really helping at all. Two weeks with no baby pictures? No photo journal of our garden overhaul? Our baby chicks arrive in two weeks, what if they get here before my camera? We may take an overnight trip to western Virginia, and it is really really pretty there. No pictures? Okay, I better shut up and stop complaining. So unattractive, I know. I am really grateful that I own a wonderful camera and that it can be repaired for free every time I break it (I wonder if there is a limit?)

Coming from a photographer, myself, I totally know how you're feeling! It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one who has often thought about "not enjoying the moments themselves" as I shoot them through my lens constantly… Sure, it's nice to have those moments forever, but do we REALLY cherish them when it's only in the photograph form? On the flipside, though, I seem to only really be able to enjoy myself fully knowing I "won't miss a perfect photo op". Go figure!Anyways, I totally love all your photos and I'm sad we'll all have to wait.

Ha! I know what you mean. And I don't even have all the nice things to take pictures of that you do! I knocked mine off the desk last year and it was away for a few weeks. IT was awful.Frankly, I enjoy your photos so much that I'M upset!!!! If the chicks come, you have to go buy another camera. That's it.
