Jonny and I are maintaining our sanity with little late night dates. We meet in the living room sometime around 11 p.m. and do normal husband and wife things like knit together and take pictures of each other doing so. I guess maybe this habit of ours is a little counter productive though, because we are pretty dang tired every morning. Jonny is a little insecure about his knitting. He requested that I point out that he has only just learned so his stitches aren’t yet neat and even. He would also like me to make sure that everyone knows that he really is a very tough guy. He just thinks that he will score points with Ginny Dearest if he knits with her.

Awesome! My husband knits, as well. BETTER than me! I console myself with the fact that he can't cook. Cute pictures! Faith

i love this..too funny! Doug and I are the same way. we don't have "traditional" dates…too hard and too expensive and no one to watch the kids…

I think that is awesome. Tell him I can't knit so I am totally impressed by someone who can both build stuff AND knit…Enjoy your hot dates together! 🙂

He is a great Daddy, builds stuff, knits stuff, and is really easy on the eyes to boot. You are one lucky lady! 🙂

Tell him that I, at least, remember that he can make MANTLES! How cool!

So glad you and Jonny are taking time out for just the two of you. That is so healthy!! Jonny needn't worry about his knitting. He'll get it perfected and his manhood is not in question. I have a knitting group I go to every Tues night and we have a guy that comes to knit. He made a hat and felted it. Right now he's working on a pair of socks. I think you guys are just so smart to do something together.Marj
